Wrapping up Things and Looking Ahead

When I began taking this class because I wanted to learn how to become more business savvy on Social Media.  Taking this class was eye opening for me in the fact that I already knew how much Social Media impacted people, but didn’t get how it could impact a business until now.  You mention in the ‘wrapping up’ lecture that Facebook has shifted more towards businesses and advertising.  This is funny because I was just saying the same thing the other day.  When I look at my personal Facebook all I see are ads.  This is happening more than ever before.  I notice people share videos more as well as sharing and liking ads.  It seems to be totally shifting from an individual ‘social’ platform to business.  I feel as if this continues people will not go to Facebook as much for social use because they don’t want to see all the ads.  Instead they will search for new platforms that are up and coming and this is where the businesses should be shifting their focus to.

It was wonderful to learn about all the social media platforms some of which I have only heard about and have not yet experienced.  Being a business it is important to be on top of the new and trendy Social Media platforms so it keeps us current, hip and in front of the masses.  My current goal is to continue with the platforms we have started in this class.  I get so excited when I post a picture and I get a like or a comment...it really drives me to keep going.  In the future, I will incorporate new platforms when appropriate.

Thank you for leading a great class, it has been very enjoyable!  I look forward to having 10,000 likes in the near future!!

Week 14- Online Marketing Strategy

Which tools from the semester you would implement in your online marketing strategy? Plot out a rough draft plan of the next month of content across the sites you’ve chosen,

My goal is to keep implementing Facebook, Instagram and Twitter in my online marketing strategy throughout the next six months; however, try to be more consistent to gain more of a following and to get our name out.  Because we are a small company and I am the only person representing Native Wine Rocks in Southern California my time is a bit limited in contributing to social media.  With that said, I will focus most of my efforts for the first month on Facebook and utilize the tool to set the timed posts throughout the weeks.  On some of the posts I will link to Instagram and Twitter to keep them consistent.

Over the next month I will implement a contest and an ad to gain likes.  Because Native Wine Rocks only has representatives in San Diego, Portland and Las Vegas I will target my reach to those territories for the contest, as this will save in shipping costs.

12/8/14- 12/20/14- Facebook Contest
Like us on Facebook to receive a FREE one of a kind Native Wine Rock just in time for Christmas!  Share us on Facebook and your changes double.  Two week only!

-         For this ad I would set a daily amount of $15.00 which would estimate $204.81 and generate an estimate of 13-52 likes per day.

1/8/15- Facebook Post
Throwback Thursday!  Here I would post a picture of our designer designing our first wine rock.

My goal in doing the contest and ad is to gain more followers and create traffic to our website.  Our website features pictures of all our work and also an area to purchase items.  I feel the time it would take me to do this would be between 10-15 hours out of the month.  In between these posts I would like to comment on people’s pages, as well as, thanking them for liking Native Wine Rocks. I would also take the time to like wineries in each of these territories and comment on their pages in hopes to be liked by them as well.  I have also incorporated that into my timing.

Week 14- Classmate Comments

Week 14- More Social Strategy

Prior to this class I was not very up to date on any of the social media platforms.  I have enjoyed learning about all platforms this semester; however, the ones I enjoyed the most are Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. I have used facebook personally; however, learning to use it for a business takes on a new meaning. I like how you can create posts and time them for a later date, as this really saves time if you decide to create a whole weeks worth at one time.   I also like how you can create ads to boost your likes and traffic to your website.  This really helps with getting your business noticed by others and reaches a greater audience when using the reach tools.

Instagram is a great tool as well to post pictures and tag your friends and places.  I have also used this for personal use, but it seem like it could work well for my business too.

I have never used twitter before and I like how you can connect, follow and tweet with so many people and businesses.  It seems as people are tweeting more every second than on facebook; however, it is a bit time consuming for my schedule.   I feel these are the best platforms for my business and the easiest to use.  If I had to pick one for my business it would be facebook.  I feel if I focus on t this is something I can utilize daily from my phone when I'm on the go.

In the future I could also incorporate constant contact for newsletters or even holiday greetings; however, this will be after we create more of a following and have managed to create a list of followers to reach out to.

Week 13 Google Analytics

The features of Google Analytics that I think would best benefit my business would be
The Search Engine Optimization reports, as it would be great to understand how Google Web Search queries led visitors to your site.  Adsense would also be a beneficial tool.  It would be great to earn additional income and Google Analytics helps displays your ads in the best possible position.  The site and performance could also be a good to incorporate.  I think it’s important to know what traffic you are getting to your website, where they are located and to know what they are doing when they are on your site.
